View Quote [Thomas arrives in the Glade. The Gladers open the doors of the Box. Gally hops down into the Box and looks at Thomas.]
Gally: Day one, Greenie. [Grabs Thomas by his shirt] Rise and shine. [Pulls Thomas out of the Box and throws him onto the grass]
[The Gladers gather around Thomas. As they scan him, Thomas gets up and runs away from them.]
Zart: Hey, we got a Runner!
[Thomas runs, but trips and falls. The Gladers laugh at this, while Gally just stands watching on. Thomas gets up and looks around the Glade.]

View Quote [Thomas has run into the Maze as Minho, Keeper of the Runners, struggled to make it back with an unconscious Alby before the doors of the Maze close for the night. Not even a second after he makes it to Minho, the doors slam shut behind him.]
Minho: Good job. You just killed yourself.
Thomas: W– what?
[Thomas examines Alby, who has various cuts and a bruise on his forehead.]
Thomas: What happened to him?
Minho: What does it look like? He got stung.
Thomas: What happened to his head?
Minho: I did what I had to do.
[An unearthly screech echoes through the Maze. Minho gets up and starts moving away.]
Thomas: Alright, help me get him up.
Minho: We gotta go. The Maze is already changing.
Thomas: Hey, Minho! [Minho looks back at him] We can't just leave him here.
[Later, as Minho and Thomas are dragging Alby through the Maze, another eerie screech is heard in the distance. Minho puts Alby down against a wall and goes to leave.]
Minho: This ain't working. We gotta go. We gotta go!
Thomas: Wait, wait, what're you talking about? We gotta do something, we gotta hide him!
Minho: Where?
Thomas: I don't know– Minho, just think. Are you telling me there's not a single place we can take him?
Minho: [Growls angrily and grabs Thomas his shirt] Listen to me, shuck-face. Alright? Take a look around! There's nowhere to go! [There are more screeches and wails in the distance; Minho stands and looks towards the noises] You don't get it. We're already dead.

View Quote [Thomas is walking through the woods with the basket and the shovel.]
Thomas: [To himself] "Just get the fertilizer, Thomas." "Are you sure, guys? I can't help in any other way?" "No, just get the fertilizer." "You know where it is. It's just out in the middle of the woods."
[Thomas drops the basket and the shovel down to the ground, walks over to a gravestone, and notices the name "George" on it. He notices bones on the ground. When Thomas gets up, he turns around to see Ben standing behind him.]
Thomas: You're Ben, right? I don't know if we ever–
[Ben seethes with rage.]
Thomas: Are you okay?
[Ben jumps on Thomas, knocking him down to the ground. Ben gets on top of Thomas and attacks him.]
Thomas: [Tries to stop Ben from attacking him] Get the hell off me!
Ben: It's your fault. I saw you. You did this. I saw you!
[Ben squeezes Thomas' arm hard, causing Thomas to scream in pain. Thomas tries to fight Ben off. He grabs a skull and uses it to hit Ben in the head, knocking him off him. Thomas gets up and runs away, with Ben running after him.]
Thomas: Hey! Hey!
[Ben tackles Thomas from behind and they both tumble down a hill. Newt and Zart are working in the gardens when they hear Thomas' voice.]
Thomas: Hey! Help!
[Thomas continues running, with Ben running after him.]
Thomas: Help! Help!
[Thomas runs out of the woods, with Ben running after him.]
Thomas: Help!
[Ben tackles Thomas from behind, knocking him down to the ground.]
Ben: [Gets on top of Thomas] I'll kill you!
[The Gladers run towards Thomas and Ben.]
Newt: Hey! [Hits Ben in the head with a shovel, knocking him off Thomas]
[As Thomas gets up, Newt, Gally, Frypan, Zart and a group of Gladers try to restrain Ben. Ben tries to fight Newt, Gally, Frypan, Zart, and some boys off.]
Gally: [Tries to restrain Ben] Calm down, Ben!
Frypan: Yo, what the hell happened?
Thomas: He just attacked me!
Chuck: You okay?
[Alby approaches Ben.]
Ben: [Seeing Alby] No. No. No.
Alby: Alright, lift his shirt.
Ben: I didn't mean it!
Alby: Lift his shirt.
[Gally lifts Ben's shirt up and he, Newt, Frypan, Zart, and a group of Gladers discover a wound on his stomach.]
Ben: No! No! No! No! Please. Please.
[Alby crouches down next to Gally.]
Gally: He's been stung. In the middle of the day?
Ben: [Starts crying] Help me, please. Please. Please, just help.
Alby: [Gets up] Put him in the Pit. Come on, everybody help. Take him to the Pit.
Ben: [Tries to stop a group of Gladers] No! No! No!
Newt: [Motions for Jeff and Clint to come] Med-jacks!
[As Ben starts to fight Newt, Gally, Frypan, Zart, and a group of Gladers off, Jeff and Clint come to help Newt, Gally, Frypan, Zart, and a group of Gladers carry Ben.]
Ben: Please don't do it!
Gally: [Tries to restrain Ben] Calm down, Ben! Back down, Ben!
Ben: Listen to me! Please!
[Newt, Gally, Frypan, Jeff, Zart, Clint, and a group of Gladers get Ben up and carry him away. As Newt, Gally, Frypan, Jeff, Zart, Clint, and a group of Gladers carry Ben away, another group of Gladers walks away, while Thomas and Chuck watch Newt, Gally, Frypan, Jeff, Zart, Clint, and a group of Gladers carry Ben away.]
Ben: [While being carried away] Please, stop, please! He did this! Please stop! No! No, please! Help me!

[Seeing Gally trying to stop Thomas from going into the Maze, the Gladers run to them.]
Thomas: Don't touch me!
Gally: Whoa! Take it easy! Take it easy! Just relax.
Thomas: Hey, what the hell is wrong with you guys?
Newt: Just calm down, alright?
Thomas: No, okay? Why won't you tell me what's out there?
Alby: We're just trying to protect you, man.

Alby: I can't let you leave.

[Hearing a noise coming from the Maze, Thomas and the Gladers turn to the corridor of the Maze.]
Thomas: What the hell?
[Thomas and the Gladers see the walls of the Maze closing. After the walls close, Gally turns to Thomas.]
Gally: Next time, I'm gonna let you leave.
[As Gally walks off, Alby turns to Thomas.]
Alby: Welcome to the Glade.
[As Alby walks off with the Gladers, Thomas continues looking at the walls of the Maze.]

Thomas: Chuck, what's going on?
Chuck: Girls are awesome. [Points up to Teresa, who is on the top of the tower, throwing rocks at the Gladers]
Gally: Hey! Throw one more of those things– [Teresa throws a rock at his head]
Teresa: Go away!
[Thomas approaches the Gladers.]
Thomas: What happened?
Newt: I don't think she likes us very much.
Teresa: What do you want from me?
Thomas: Hey, look, we just wanna talk.
Teresa: I'm warning you! [Throws rocks at Thomas and the Gladers]
Thomas: Hey! Hey! Whoa! It's Thomas! It's Thomas!
[Teresa peeks down from the top of the tower. As Gally, holding his head, looks up at Teresa, Thomas gestures to her.]
Thomas: Okay, I'm gonna come up, okay?
[Teresa retreats from the edge of the upper platform.]
Thomas: Okay. Just me.
[Thomas and Gally look at each other before Thomas climbs up the tower, with Gally watching on.]
Thomas: I'm coming up.
[Emerging through a hatch at the top of the tower, Thomas finds Teresa wielding a machete.]
Thomas: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. [Raises his hand] Okay, just– Easy, alright?
Teresa: Where am I? What is this place? Why can't I remember anything?
Thomas: This– This is all normal, okay? We've– We've all been through this, okay? And your name, that'll come back to you in a couple of days. It's like the one thing that's–
Teresa: Teresa.
Thomas: What'd you say?
Teresa: My name. It's Teresa.
Thomas: Alright, Teresa, I'm Thomas. But you already knew that, though, I guess, huh?
Teresa: They said I kept saying your name in my sleep. Who are you?
Thomas: I don't know. I– I can't remember, okay? None of us– None of us here can remember anything. We all woke up here, just like you did. Hey, I promise. I'm gonna take this. [Takes the machete from Teresa] Okay.
Gally: What's going on up there?
[Thomas gets up and looks over a railing and sees the Gladers looking up at the top of the tower.]
Newt: Is she coming down?
[Thomas and Teresa, who sits with her knees to her chest, look at each other, then Thomas turns to the Gladers.]
Thomas: Hey, listen, you guys just give us a second, okay?
Newt: [Motions for the Gladers to leave] Alright, come on.
Frypan: Is this what all girls are like?
[Minho and Chuck look at each other. Gally looks up at the top of the tower before walking away with the Gladers. Thomas and Teresa sit at the edge of the upper platform.]
Teresa: "She's the last one." What does that mean?
Thomas: I'm not sure. Ever since you came up, that Box hasn't gone back down. You know, and I just think it's got everyone a little worried. Especially Gally.
[Thomas and Teresa look down and see Gally, with his arms crossed, looking up at the top of the tower.]
Teresa: He thinks it's my fault.
Thomas: Are you sure you don't remember anything else?
Teresa: I remember water, feeling like I was drowning. These faces staring at me. And this voice, this woman's voice saying the same thing over and over.
Thomas: "WCKD is good." Ever since I've been here, I've had these dreams. Well, I thought they were dreams. You– You were there. You were there, and you told me that everything was gonna change.
Teresa: What does it mean?
Thomas: I don't know. I– I just always get pieces.
Teresa: And the others don't remember anything?
Thomas: No. Why are we different?
Teresa: [Takes two vials of serum out of her pocket] These were in my pocket when I came up. [Give the two vials of serum to Thomas]
Thomas: [Takes the two vials of serum from Teresa and examines them] "W.C.K.D." "WCKD is good."
Teresa: What if we were sent here for a reason?
Thomas: [Remembers something] Alby.

Thomas: Has anyone tried climbing to the top?
Newt: Tried it. The ivy doesn't go all the way to the top. And besides, where are you gonna go from there?

[Thomas walks off into the woods with the basket and the shovel. As Thomas walks off into the woods, Newt and Zart continue working in the gardens.]

View Quote [Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Gally, and Frypan walk into the medical hut where Alby is sitting on a bed with his arms crossed. Newt approaches Alby.]
Newt: Alby, you alright?
[Alby just sits saying nothing.]

[Teresa and Minho watch Thomas and Alby.]
Thomas: Alby, we might have just found a way out of the Maze. You hear me? We could be getting out of here.
Alby: [Cries and shakes his head] We can't. We can't leave. They won't let us.

Alby: I remember.
[Gally watches Thomas and Alby.]
Thomas: What do you remember?
Alby: [Turns to Thomas] You.
[Teresa, Newt, Minho, Gally, and Frypan look at Thomas.]
Thomas: You were always their favorite, Thomas. Always.
[Teresa and Gally hear the Gladers outside the medical hut.]
Alby: Why did you do this? Why did you come here?
[As Thomas gets up, Alby clutches his hand and cries. Thomas runs out of the medical hut, with Teresa, Newt, Minho, Gally, and Frypan following him. Outside the medical hut, Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Gally, and Frypan see the Gladers, who are holding torches, running towards the entrance of the Maze. Thomas approaches Winston, who is holding a torch.]
Thomas: Hey, Winston, what's going on?
Winston: The doors, they aren't closing. [Runs to the entrance of the Maze]
[Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, and Frypan run to the entrance of the Maze, with Gally watching on, then Gally runs to the entrance of the Maze as well. The Gladers gather at the entrance of the Maze and look at the corridor of the Maze. Hearing the second walls opening behind them, the Gladers turn to look behind them. Hearing the third walls opening on their right, they turn to look on their right. Hearing the fourth walls opening on their left, they turn to look on their left to see a group of boys running towards it.]
Thomas: [To Chuck] Okay, Chuck, I want to go to the Council Hall, okay? Start barricading the doors.
Chuck: Okay.
Newt: [To Winston] Winston, you go with him.
Winston: Got it. [Pats Gally on his shoulder and runs off]
Gally: [To a group of boys] Get the others. Tell them to go to the forest. Go hide, now!
Thomas: Minho, I want you to grab every weapon you can find. I'll meet you at Council Hall.
Minho: Let's go. [Runs off, with Newt, Frypan, and a group of boys following him]
Thomas: [To Teresa] Okay, Teresa, you and I are gonna go get Alby, alright? Come on.
[Thomas, Teresa, Gally, Zart, and a group of boys see another group of boys running out of the woods. Turning to the corridor, the Gladers see the Grievers starting to crawl out of the corridor.]
Thomas: Alright, everybody hide!
[As the Gladers run, Thomas pulls Teresa away from the corridor, while the Grievers crawl towards them.]

View Quote [Two boys throw Thomas into the Pit, a set of separate holes dug in the ground and covered by a wood shelter and bamboo cage doors, close the door, lock it, and walk off. Thomas gets up and looks through the door of the Pit and sees the Gladers milling about the Glade and a goat jumping on a cart.]
Alby: [Approaches the Pit] Hey.
[Thomas falls to the floor. Alby crouches down at the door of the Pit.]
Alby: Hey there, Greenbean. You're not gonna run again, okay? Good. [Gets up, opens the door of the Pit, and crouches down at the doorway] My name is Alby. Now, can you tell me anything about yourself, who you are, where you came from? Anything at all? [Thomas is visibly confused and distressed. He looks around distractedly, rubbing his hands together and giving no response] Can you tell me your name?
Thomas: [Visibly frightened] I– I can't remember anything. Why can't I remember anything?
Alby: It's okay. Hey, relax. Relax. It's normal. It happens to us all. You get your name back in a day or two. It's the one thing they let us keep.
Thomas: What is this place?
Alby: [Holding his hand out] Let me show you.
